Ahmedabad: Land of the rising Zen

 


AHMEDABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the zen garden and the kaizen academy of the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) via video conference on Sunday. The Prime Minister said these facilities will be the symbol of growing friendship and cooperation between the peoples and governments of India and Japan.

Modi said that in the current difficult period of the epidemic, the friendship between India and Japan under the leadership of Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has become more important to global stability and prosperity. Today’s challenges require further strengthening of friendship and partnership. The Prime Minister praised the Gujarat India-Japan Friendship Association for reviving relations between the two countries.

In view of the similarities between Zen Buddhism and Indian Zen views, the Prime Minister paused and emphasized the importance of the two cultures to progress and growth in the inner world and daily life. The Prime Minister of India said: "In this Zen garden, Indians will find the peace, balance and simplicity they have experienced in yoga for hundreds of years." He said that kaizen is not just "improvement"; it is continuous improvement.
